About Event
Under Belly food tours - behind the scenes introduction to the real-life food producers. Meet the growers/producers; enjoy a tour of their premises where the public aren't normally allowed into. Listen to the stories told by the real characters of the Hawke's Bay foodie world.Minimum numbers are required for these tours to run, if the required numbers for your tour aren't reached you may be asked to move to a different tour. Please include a contact phone number when booking so we can get in touch with you if this is the case.
Tour 1 - Departs and finishes at the Napier i-SITE
The first stop will be the Napier Urban Farmers' Market, enjoy a guided tour around the market, learn about the producers and their products, meet the producers and buy some delicious food (at your own cost). The next stop is F.G.Smith Eatery meet Jennifer - the owner; enjoy a coffee and taste one of their seasonal cakes. On to Hohepa for a look around their cheese factory and some cheese tasting while chatting to the resident cheese maker. Enjoy your lunch at No5 Cafe and Larder with Johnny the owner. Last stop is the Hastings City Art Gallery, your visit will be hosted by Maree; hear about the gallery and the exhibitions; see some "weta Radios" and discover award winning New Zealand art works. Also enjoy a wine tasting hosted by Clearview Estate.
